Houston Astros at New York Yankees MLB Pick – October 18th

When we Endorsed the New York Yankees at home in game four of the American League Championship Series against the Houston 30, we picked up a Drop.

I believed that Zack Greinke just could not be trusted, and that Masahiro Tanaka could find a way to get five or six innings of work in. And early on, it looked like I nailed the pick. Greinke walked a streak in to give the Yankees the lead and had a tough beginning since he loaded the bases. Greinke threw a bunch of pitches and walked three men in the frame. It looked like he had been in for a long night. But he managed to settle down, that is before the fifth inning. With a couple longer walks, Greinke quickly loaded the bases , in the fifth. But reliever Ryan Pressly arrived and rescued the match since he picked up back to back strikeouts of Edwin Encarnacion and Gleyber Torres to end the threat. Tanaka didnt have his best stuff as he gave up four runs, three of them earned in just five innings. This match was aggressive and the Yankees tried to rally, however in the long run, their bullpen let them down since they gave up four runs in four innings, and the Astros pulled away for the 8-3 win. Since theyre now 1 game away from going into the World Series the triumph was a tremendous one for Houston. For New York, the Yankees will look to win tonight to deliver the series back to Houston. Since the Yankees host the Astros using the ALCS, we will stay right here for todays pick. The New York Yankees year is on the line tonight in game five of the American League Championship Series. After withdrawing off home-field advantage, and shooting game two in Houston, the Yankees have struggled at home, dropping two consecutive games. Now New York have to win to extend the string and ship it back to Houston and has their backs against

the wall. For the Astros, they hope to look after business tonight and hit their ticket into the World Series, where the Nationals are waiting for themhaving swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS. Starting tonight to get the Yankees is James Paxton (0-0 5.14 ERA), and for the Astros its Justin Verlander (1-1 3.12 ERA). The game complete over-under is set at seven and a half conducts. The Astros have been all -142 street favorites. First pitch is scheduled to 4:08 PM PST in Yankee Stadium in New York . Justin Verlander has been quite good in this postseason. He had one start against the Tampa Bay Rays, but that has been on 3 days rest, so it is tough to blame him too terrible much. In his match one of the ALDS start against the Rays, he didnt allow a run on just one hit and threw seven innings. In game two against of the ALCS from New York, he was good as he tossed six along with two-thirds of an inning and gave up two earned runs. The Astros are hoping that he can shut this string out so they can use Gerrit Cole for game one of the World Series, rather than have to use him in game of the ALCS and that Verlander can get them deep into the match tonight. Verlander is at the very top of his powers now in his age six months that is thirty-six, and now I see him having a lot of success tonight. The biggest weakness of this team all year long has been their pitching. We see that tonight since they are clearly getting the worst of this starting pitching matchup. Its not that James Paxton doesnt have stuff that is good, he most certainly does. We found that in game two when he had been hitting on the high nineties. The difficulty for Paxton is a distinctive one, since he seems to be leaning his pitches. By wiggling his glove paxton triedto cure his tipping difficulty. It didnt do the job. And Aaron Boone realized it, and he had been pulled from the game after only two and a third innings of work. If Paton cant find a means to hide his pitch choice tonight, the Yankees are in trouble. Theyve abused and used their bullpen, and if they need to visit the pencil again I do not see it ending for these. Home-field benefit is huge in the playoffs. But in this series, the road team has won the past few games. I see that trend tonight. I would not want to bet against Justin Verlander at just about any price right now as he is just too great. But at this price, within this spot, it seems like a steal. Its apparent that Aaron Boone doesnt trust James Paxton, and he can be quick to pull on him tonight. Hell regret it if he can. The Yankees bullpen has been one of the most significant strengths this year. However they have yet to be great in this series, and they have been overused. If they need more or six innings out of these, that is terrible news for New York. Paxton finds a way. Maybe he doesnt, and the Yankees turn matters over to the bullpen early. Either way, I just dont see the Yankees being able to hold the Astros lineup tonight, regardless of whos on the mound tonight. Verlander will be outstanding, the Houston lineup will probably score runsas well as mind into the World Series tonight and the Astros are likely to end off the Yankees. I understand the reason why this number is really a one, I hate to bet against the Yankees at home in October, out of winning the previous two matches, but Houston did not prevent, and that isnt going to stop them. Give that the Houston Astros tonight in game five at -142 to me! Read more here: http://zurichexpats.com/?p=15480
